Visit to recycling centre...

On Saturday the 14th   August , Eco Frenz made a visit to a non-governmental organization , Pusat Kitar Semula  Fo En in Kulim. We went there to get more information on recycling. They  gave a warm welcome to us.
Firstly, they briefed us on their administration and how they run the centres . They operate  three recycling centres in Kulim.

They later  brought us to the centre that collects the recycling materials .  There are big recycling bins where the public can send  things that can be  recycled .

From here the materials will be sent to the segregation center which is located nearby.

The workers  segregate  them according to the type of materials it is made out of.

When the container is full, it will be sold to factories that will recycle the materials .

A container full of aluminiums cans can reach a price of up to  RM3500 .

It was a memorable visit . Even though we were surrounded by mountains of materials that  we initially thought rubbish, we enjoyed ourselves very much.
Guess what… several members of Eco Frenz bought some souvenirs from the recycling centre.  Thyviena bought a music box for three dollars!!!

Before leaving the recycling center , Eco Frenz   gave the Fo En Recycling Centre  the recyclable material that we had collected  from the school  canteen .
Then they brought us to the haemodialysis center where they provide dialysis service with a very cheap cost subsidized by the government , with the money they earn through recycling and donations .
One person's rubbish is another person’s treasure.
